Registrations close midnight Thursday 19th September 2024. Late registrations and those taken on competition day will incur an additional $20 late fee.
All competitors must complete the domestic license form online prior to the competition.
Boulder Jam Competition
This will run for Open B (suit athletes with no prior competition experience with CNZ, or masters athletes) and Youth B (athletes born in 2009 and 2010)
The boulder Jam will run for 2 hours, and use 7 or 8 of the Opens qualifying boulders with or without modification. Athletes will be able to observe the Open climbers on these boulders prior to the boulder Jam. There are no finals for the boulder Jam.

Youth B. This event is NOT a qualification event for any New Zealand development squad or New Zealand Team selection. It is for experience and fun.
The Open B suitability above is guidance only, not a rule, so we would welcome climbers with previous experience at CNZ events but don’t feel they are ready to compete in the full open format.
The boulders will be challenging, they would have been set for the open qualifiers and some may not be modified for the boulder jam.
The boulder jam athletes will have the advantage of being able to watch the open athletes compete and have the advantage of the boulder jam format with multiple attempts over the full time period, watching others climb, be able to receive advice (beta) from anyone watching and supporting.
Consider being there and supporting the Open athletes during their qualifying round to learn the beta etc. and enjoy the climbing.
Also during the qualifiers if you wish to learn to Judge, let one of the organisers know and we can arrange for you to sit with one of the competition judges for a period.
The entry fee for the boulder Jam is $50 and no club membership is required.
FORMAT For Boulder Jam
Single Round
Athletes can have as many attempts as they like in the 2 hour period. Boulders will be judged on IFSC rules, tracking and recording attempts, zones and tops.
There are no finals for the boulder jam
